The idea behind this type of diet is to keep your metabolism guessing by shifting calories with each meal or day.

This is not a low calorie diet that will put you at risk of slowing down your metabolism but rather has a healthy calorie intake level for the week.

This plan boasts that you can lose 9 pounds every 11 days.

Although these results are highly unlikely for the common person, this method may allow you to lose weight faster than other weight loss plans.

This diet method is also referred to as a zig zag diet.

When shifting calories by the day you would take your total daily calorie intake for weight loss and divide it into 4 meals per day.

I am one of those who will skip main course and eat only desserts. Here is a list of some of the common desserts and the calories. Many people think ice cream is a sinful dessert to eat when you are on diet. However, if you analyze the calories in details, it is not as bad after all. Just do not finish one pint of ice cream. One half cup of ice cream is approximately 150 calories, quite equivalent to a soda. The richer and creamer the ice cream, the higher the calories in general. You will notice rich ice cream such as Haagen Dazs, which has approximately 20% fat, contains approximately 250 calories in half a cup size.

When on diet, choose low fat ice cream or some brands called it reduced fat, fat free. Low fat yogurt also has lower calories compared to the full cream rich ice cream. My favourite weight loss method is walking to lose weight and I am still practising it everyday to keep myself slim. An hour of brisk walking burns approximately 200 – 250 calories. Again it depends on your weight and your size. It is said that you burn up to 100 calories by walking only around 2,500 to 3,000 steps. When you say walking, you do not necessary need to allocate 1 hour per day, incorporate this into your daily activities.

Incorporate brisk walking exercise into your shopping routine as well. If you are window shopping or buying grocery, stroll an extra lane or hour, you will notice how many more steps you have taken.

A little trick that I did was to purchase a walking pedometer. It is quite inexpensive and fun to have one. flat pack cupboards . The rule of thumb is to complete approximately 10,000 steps a day. By that you will burn approximately 300 to 400 calories depending on your weight and size. Some said you can burn up to 500 calories when you increase your speed.

Put this pedometer into your pocket or handbag and do your daily routine. You will be surprise how many steps you have walked a day.

Walking for Weight Loss is a healthy and free method to lose weight! I have dropped one waist size and got a slightly slimmer waist just by walking an average 5 hours a day for 4 days on one of my holidays. It is just that effective and even your friend will notice your slimmer waist line!
